Joyous. That’s the first word that comes to mind when I think about Wizard’s Treasure.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This escape room was mechanically and aesthetically gorgeous, with a playful whimsy tying everything together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It never took itself too seriously. It started with a delightful, humorous introduction. This silliness continued with the characters we encountered in the first act. While the ending was telegraphed throughout the entire second act, leaving opportunity for a more dynamic conclusion, the finale was still dramatic, beautiful, and, of course, joyous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of note, this was a completely different game from the original 60 Out game at a different location with a similar name, Wizard\u2019s Workshop<\/a><\/em> (reviewed in 2017 and now closed). Wizard’s Treasure<\/em> has one Easter egg that only the most observant players might notice, but otherwise bears no resemblance to its predecessor. While 60 Out is a franchise, Wizard’s Treasure <\/em>was developed in house at this location (Hollywood).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only way to fail to enjoy Wizard’s Treasure<\/em> is to attack it too forcefully. It was a family-friendly adventure. It’s meant to be enjoyed linearly, as a group. If you split up, you’ll miss out on both character and puzzles. This isn’t to say the puzzles were easy. There were fun aha moments; other solves took multiple hands coordinating together. Bring a small team and savor together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wizard’s Treasure<\/em> was the surprise darling of our fall trip to Los Angeles. The creator had invited us, and the game was located conveniently enough to fit into our crazy schedule. We love when creators reach out, and we always strive to visit. After we played, we sent a lot of people \u2013 both enthusiasts and casual players \u2013 to this escape room, and both demographics have been consistently satisfied with their experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is without hesitation that I recommend Wizard’s Treasure<\/em> be a part of any Los Angeles escape room excursion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
