She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in<a href=\"http:\/\/games.usc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Interactive Media<\/a> at the University of Southern California\u2019s School of Cinematic Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kathryn most recently worked at the indie game studio<a href=\"http:\/\/tenderclaws.com\/\"> Tender <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/tenderclaws.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">C<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/tenderclaws.com\/\">laws<\/a> on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oculus.com\/experiences\/quest\/2731491443600205\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <em>Virtual Virtual Reality 2<\/em><\/a>. She was also a recipient of a USC Annenberg Graduate Fellowship for 2020-2021. During her Fellowship, she worked on a pervasive game to foster creativity and collaboration among incoming students to the School of Cinematic Arts; that alternate reality game, <em>The<\/em> <em>Pickfair Directive,<\/em> was nominated to the 2021<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiecade.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> IndieCade<\/a> Festival of Independent Games. Kathryn was also featured in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/metaverse-noir-twitter-feed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> WIRED<\/a> for her interactive Twitter-based story <em>Metaverse Noir<\/em>. Her game <em>Heirloom<\/em> won the \u201cFavourite game by a woman or female team\u201d award at the 2021<a href=\"https:\/\/www.womeningames.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Women in Games<\/a> Global Awards and was shortlisted for the 2020<a href=\"https:\/\/newmediawritingprize.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> New Media Writing Prize<\/a> as well as being nominated for Best Student Game at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesforchange.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Games for Change<\/a> 2021. She is currently in development on her thesis game, <em>Penrose Station<\/em>, a sci-fi single-player narrative VR experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kathryn is also the Executive Editor of<a href=\"https:\/\/noproscenium.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> No Proscenium<\/a> and a co-founder of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.immersiveexperience.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Immersive Experience Institute<\/a>, a non-profit which aims to create a sustainable future for immersive and experiential arts and artists worldwide. She has spoken at Games for Change, the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media, The Knight Foundation, NESTA, and more.
